BIOGRAPHY

Lara Ewen was born in New York City, but her songs evoke dirt roads as much as asphalt. Influenced by folk and blues traditions, and with a nod to today’s alt. country sound, she weaves bare acoustic guitar and thought-provoking lyrics together, producing a distinctly original body of work.

Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Lara Ewen has performed throughout the U.S. and abroad, and her rootsy Americana style has defined her, from her early days as a busker in Boston and Europe to her current incarnation as the frontperson for her band, Lara Ewen and the Unstrung Orchestra. Lara’s bar room-meets-bedroom vocals and bluesy guitar chops can be heard on her debut EP release, Clear , as well as on the band’s new full-length album, Ghosts and Gasoline .

Lara has performed solo and with her band at such notable NYC venues as CBGB’s, The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall and The Knitting Factory.
