One day I discovered this really cool site called iLike. iLike is a site where you can share music you like, find out when your favorite artists are touring, and get recommendations for new music. And as the name foretold, I like it… almost or maybe as much as Mog, but more on that later.
Much to my surprise I found a page with my music on iLike and people who LIKE ME! Sweet. This happened because iLike decided to hook up with GarageBand. I’ve been on GarageBand for a long time (oh horrors, you can hear me sound like a pop star on a recording from my youth called “Tumble Down”). It’s great because they have a peer review system, charts, and song contests. A couple of my old tunes didn’t do too bad either. Let me just take a minute to stroke my ego here. All of the songs I submitted in contests received at least 3 out of 4 stars. Boo yeah!
Anyway, back to the matter at hand. I thought the whole GarageBand/iLike relationship was a brilliant idea at the time. So this morning I have an email from GarageBand announcing the mind-blowing interface of GarageBand, iLike, and FaceBook. I clicked the link in my email and FaceBook automatically put up a Jessi Robertson artist page based on my GarageBand info. Meanwhile, FaceBook pulled up my favorite bands and upcoming tours based on my iLike info. Pure awesomeness.
Even though I am a very new FaceBook user, I have to say I’ve enjoyed their site. Now three of my favorite social/music networking sites are getting all friendly and talking to each other. Long live the revolution!
